I am such a target!

I can't believe I almost become a victim of thief again today.

I was sitting in the KFC near Metro Sol station for my afternoon tea this afternoon. A man and a woman came to sit next to me, and the woman placed her coat very close to my handbag when she sat down. I sensed that there was 'something' with them but continued my Street Box with chicken and chips anyway. When I was nearly finish, I saw the woman run downstairs quickly and right that moment I took a peek at my handbag and found that was gone. I realized that it must the woman who has taken that so I chased her downstairs and right at the middle of staircases she dropped my handbag and the same time the security guy at the doorway stopped her. She has no where to go then.

Although all the staff seemed reluctant to do anything, I insisted that they should call the police. The woman tried to escape but the security guy kept her in there while we were all waiting for the police to come. The 'Policia' arrived about 5 minutes later. I described them the incident and I told the police that I cannot let her go although I have nothing lost. For the rest of tourists in Madrid, for now and in the future, she has to be caught and punished under the law.

The Policia then took me to the station and they filed the case. I was told she would be detained in the station tonight and will be trial tomorrow.

I planned to write something nice about Madrid today before I leave for Barcelona, but all I have now is the above incident. Life ......is....so full of incidents and accidents......

Up the Main Street

I have been living here since 7th of May. It is a self contained apartment with one bedroom, kitchen/sitting room and toilet. It has got most of the things one would need to use for living, except a proper kettle for hot water and coffee. Apart from that, everything else is fine and very lovely for a homeless.

It's a lovely Saturday today, I am sitting at the widow side listening to the music from my iPhone. Sunlight is so precious in Ireland and I am grateful for that at the moment.

I have to sincerely thank Eric, this Hong Kong guy who rent this apartment to me and so the backpacker has a shelter. Eric, who owns this restaurant downstairs has been living in Ireland for more than 20 years. He has married an Irish women and they have 4 children if I didn't receive the wrong information. I saw him saying hello to me in the street when I just come down to this town a few days later. I haven't seen him for awhile as I busy at work and visiting places nearby. It was until about one and a half month ago when I get bored and started visiting his restaurant during my day off, we become more familiar to each other then.

Eric is as nice as Carmen describes. When I rang him and asked him about the apartment he said its not a problem straight away without any consideration. It is a huge gratitude for a homeless if who is given a place to stay. I gave him 100 euro but I knew I owe him more than that.

I will be here until 22nd of May. I should enjoy the rest of my days here as this is almost the ideal living environment which I have been looking for.

Shift and drifted

I would never had predicted that I would be laid off earlier than my planned resign date. Plans can't always catch the changes. This is part of the hardship in life. So now I have two weeks extra as that happened two weeks earlier.

Two weeks is an embarrassing time since a lot of things can be done yet sometimes nothing could be accomplished. You can do a lot of things if you are aggressive enough or you can just chill out if you think you need some relax. I chose the later one. I think I need a cool down period.

I was thrown out yesterday since I finished then. Well it wasn't that bad, It was just the end of the informal contract if it is put nicely. So I was free and homeless since then.
